Refreshed for 2026
This guide was rebuilt using the proposals we issue across the Energy Corridor, Galleria, Memorial City, and Downtown submarkets. We do not publish rates or ranges, because a number without a scope is meaningless — what follows is how to read a commercial move proposal, what belongs in it, and how to compare movers fairly.
What Drives the Scope of a Commercial Move
Scope in Houston is driven by the size of your space, the volume of furniture and equipment, the distance between locations, the complexity of your IT infrastructure, whether specialty items need special handling, and your timeline. Weekend and after-hours moves take more coordination but protect business days, which is why most commercial clients choose them.
What a Complete Proposal Should Contain
Insist on a written fixed-scope proposal after an on-site walkthrough at both addresses. It should list crew size, truck count, the move window, packing materials and crate rental, furniture teardown and reinstall, IT disconnect and reconnect, floor and elevator protection, debris removal, insurance coverage, the project manager assigned to you, and post-move punch-list support. Anything missing from the page is a conversation you will have on move day instead.

Request a Free Walkthrough2026 Market Note
Houston's commercial real estate market remains active in 2026, with heavy relocation activity in the Energy Corridor, Galleria, and Downtown submarkets. High-demand weekends — particularly May through August and October through November — book out 6 to 8 weeks in advance. If your lease end date falls in those windows, start your mover search earlier than you think.
Scope Gaps to Watch For
Be careful with movers who present a thin proposal and then add scope for stairs, elevators, long carries, packing materials, or overtime once the trucks are loaded. A professional commercial mover documents everything after a thorough walkthrough. At Corporate Relocators, our proposals are all-inclusive — no hidden fees, no surprise charges.
How to Plan the Project
Start planning 3 to 4 months before your target move date. Request proposals from at least three commercial movers and compare them on an apples-to-apples basis, making sure each covers identical scope. Plan the rest of the project too: new furniture, IT upgrades, signage, address change notifications, and any overlap in your lease terms.
Ways to Simplify Your Move
Declutter before the move — every item that does not travel is one less thing to handle twice. Consider furniture liquidation for anything you will not need at the new location. Book 6 to 8 weeks in advance for better scheduling, and choose a mover who supplies packing materials as part of the proposal. Ready for numbers specific to your space? Request a walkthrough.
